Primark Florals and Tropical Prints

After a not so nice morning yesterday, I was in desperate need of some retail therapy but to be honest I was slightly disappointed with our British high street!
On a normal shopping expedition I leave with my hands full but yesterday I just about managed to come home with one bag.  Don't get me wrong, the two things I purchased were great and absolute bargains but I was still left with that dreaded empty feeling.
Maybe it's because of all the sales or maybe it's because most of the things that I did like already have a place in my wardrobe.

Primark for me is normally a place that I can find something to buy and it didn't let me down yesterday!

What do you think of my new additions?

New Look Studded Collar Shirt

My two major fashion weaknesses are studs and shirts, a quick glimpse of my wardrobe would confirm this!
It seems that like me many of you also fell head over heels for the white Zara shirt that Louise wore in the last series of Made in Chelsea.  As like most things seen on Louise the Zara version sold out a while back but I've found a black, sleeveless, summery version at a much cheaper price in New Look.

I'm already visualising it with my leopard print leggings!

Rachel Bilson's Style

Being a fan of The OC back in the day means that I've been aware of Rachel Bilson for a while but it's only recently, since watching Hart of Dixie that I've sat up and took notice of her style.
In the show she wears some gorge outfits, love the shirt and shorts look that she rocks regularly!  Off duty she is normally seen wearing a more laid back look but when attending events she pulls out all the stops.

Rachel clearly knows what style works for her and she very rarely gets it wrong.

Vintage Dresses At ASOS Marketplace

A friend recently asked for my help in finding a vintage 40's dress and straight away I knew that Marketplace by Asos would be the perfect place to look.
The online boutiques are made up of indie labels, multi-brand boutiques and vintage sellers.  I love how you can not only buy unique pieces but can also sell your own items to other like minded individuals.
For those like me that love fashion, Marketplace is like one big dressing up box, heaven!

Essex Success Story Joey Bevan

Joey Bevan is an exciting designer from good old Essex, who I first became aware of earlier in the year when I attended Essex Fashion Week.
Joey started his journey in fashion at the age of 15 and those years of experience are evident in his collections.
After stints on Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model, Joey was head hunted to appear on America's Next Top Model giving him the chance to showcase his designs to a wider audience.

It's nice to see someone from my neck of the woods making such a success of their talent.

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen - Stylemint

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are well known for their laid back style and now the fashion designers have made their LA inspired Stylemint collection available to us in the UK via Stylistpick.

Every wardrobe needs some fundamental basics and this range by the twins meets that criteria perfectly.

Celebs such as Rachel Bilson, Dakota Fanning and Dianna Agron turn to the label for it's wearable, everyday t-shirts.

Zooey Deschanel - New Girl Fashion

The last episode of New Girl was yonks ago back on the 16th March and if like me you are starting to get withdrawal symptoms, I have some good news, it's back on our screens at the end of this month!

Of course the main thing I love about the show is Jess' quirky style and I can't wait to see what treats are in store for us in the remainder of the first series.  I also heard today that New Girl has been picked up for a second season so there will be heaps of outfits for us to drool over!

Here's just a handful of some of my favourite looks so far.

Fascinators - The Perfect Ascot Accessory

It's that time of year again when horses are chomping at the bit, bets are being placed and abstract and sometimes damn ridiculous hats are being worn!  Yes people, it's horse racing season and time for the ladies of the nation to shine and try their utmost to out do eachother.

Last year I had the pleasure of attending Ascot and I can honestly say that I have never seen such extravagant outfits.  It's the one place that you will never look overdressed and that's why us girls turn up in our thousands each year.

The perfect accessory for such an occasion has to be a fascinator, it's the icing on top of a well dressed cake!  Our amazing high street has a great selection with purse friendly prices but, if you're willing to spend a bit extra then Philip Treacy should be top of your list.

Fascinators are also a great way to glam up a sometimes plain wedding outfit.

Louise Roe Stylistpick

The great thing about Stylistpick is that for those of you that love fashion but struggle with the styling side of things, all that stress is taken away by their team of stylists, who hand pick different looks that are perfectly matched to your own personal style.

My favourite collection is by fashion presenter and stylist Louise Roe.  Louise has great style and her seventies, LA vibe is carried on through to the shoes, handbags and jewellery in her collection.

I love how they not only show pieces from the collection but also how Louise would style them, a great way to get some tips!

Jovonna/Jovonnista London

Most of you are more than likely already familiar with the Jovonna/Jovonnista franchise, due to various Topshop concessions stocking the brand but, you might not be aware of the fact that you can also buy pieces from the collection online at http://www.jovonnalondon.com/.

I know I harp on about my love for all things with a shirt/collar quite a bit but this label has ignited my obsession once again!

Eagle eye fans of Made in Chelsea's Caggie Dunlop may recognise the Cindi blouse.

Alexander Wang Style Bag

Whilst eating lunch in my local shopping centre I spotted this little lovely out the corner of my eye, so I went in to the store for a closer inspection.

It's very Alexander Wang-esque & for £15, what a find!

If like me you want to save some pennies but not cut corners on style, then head down to your local Select store & grab yourself a bargain!

Unfortunately, this bag is not available online at the moment but keep an eye on selectfashion.co.uk as you never know when it might appear.

Made in Chelsea inspired jacket

Apart from Mr Boulle, the best thing to come out of series 3 of Made in Chelsea were the Chanel inspired jackets.

Both Louise Thompson and Rosie Fortescue were seen wearing the boucle blazers adding that little touch of glamour to their outfits.

If, like me you can't afford to splash out on genuine Chanel, fear not, as the high street is a wash with similar styles that cut the mustard but don't hit your back account quite as hard!

I picked this one up from H&M today for just £29.99.

Cheryl Cole wears bright orange Dion Lee dress

Last night Cheryl painted the town 'orange' in a gorgeous Dion Lee dress and sky high Charlotte Olympia 'Meredith' wedges.

Looking like a little ray of sunshine, Cheryl hit the Paris nightlife showing the women of the stylish capital that us Brits can do it just as well.

Colourful, summery shoes

With there being a glimpse of the sun today, it got me thinking about adding some colourful, summery shoes to my ever expanding collection.

I know I might be slightly premature with us being in for another week or so of downpours but, there's nothing like optimism!  I'm also hoping that by adding some colour to my feet it might help get me out of this gloomy rut this hideous weather seems to have got me in.

So, with that in mind I had a little trawl through the interweb and found these beauties.

Bella Heathcote in Gucci floral

Some of you may remember that back in May, I predicted Bella Heathcote would be one to watch in the fashion stakes and she hasn't disappointed!

Bella wore this beautiful Gucci Floral dress at a cocktail party to honour Frida Giannini hosted by W magazine and Editor in Chief Stefano Tonchi at the Academy Mansion in New York last Thursday.

Gucci seems to be her go to designer for events, she was also seen in two stand out Gucci looks at last months Cannes Film Festival.

This is definitely the kind of dress that I would love to have hanging in my wardrobe!

Pastel Nail Colours

Regular readers will know that I have a slight problem with getting a tad obsessed with certain things and then preceding to buy as many similar items as possible!

This habit of mine has now moved onto nail varnishes and over the last couple of weeks I seem to have built up a little collection of pastel colours.

All I need now is for the ruddy sun to come out!
